PH-BN Cooperation Should Continue in Next General Election, Says Prime Minister Anwar.


BUKIT MERTAJAM: Cooperation between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) should continue in the next general election following the political stability the country is currently enjoying. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasized the importance of maintaining this partnership, citing the difficulty for any single political party to secure a comfortable majority in the current landscape, and highlighting Malaysia’s status as one of the most politically stable countries in the region over the past two years.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar stressed that this stability has facilitated Malaysia’s acceptance by the original BRICS countries, among the 30 nations that applied. He pointed out that political stability has led to a clear government policy on various fronts, including digital plans, semiconductors, and energy transition. These policies are backed by an efficient administration, notably with the appointment of a new Chief Secretary to the Government who is pushing for reforms a
mong civil servants.

Anwar expressed that if consensus is reached within the cabinet, it would be prudent to continue the PH-BN cooperation. He made these remarks during the ‘Temu Anwar Generasi Ada Idea (Gen-AI) programme held at the Gravitas Business Park, Jalan Baru Prai, Penang. The event was attended by prominent figures such as Deputy Minister of Communications Teo Nie Ching, Communications Ministry secretary-general Datuk Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa, Deputy Chief Minister 1 Datuk Dr Mohamad Abdul Hamid, and MCMC chairman Tan Sri Mohamad Salim Fateh Din.
