Petronas channels RM400,000 aid to Terengganu, Kelantan flood victims

KUALA TERENGGANU, March 2 — Petronas has handed over a contribution of RM400,000 for relief missions to flood-hit residents in Terengganu and Kelantan.

Petronas East Coast general manager M. Ahmad Shazly Ramli said the company is always concerned about people’s plight and hoped the donation would help ease their burden.

“Each family received a donation worth RM200, namely basic food supplies, personal care and hygiene kits as well as a ‘Mesra Gift Card’ for purchases at Petronas petrol stations,” he said in a statement today.

The contribution to 1,500 families affected by the floods was delivered through the district offices in Kemaman, Hulu Terengganu, Setiu, Besut and Kuala Nerus as well as three districts in Kelantan, namely Jeli, Pasir Mas and Tanah Merah starting today.

Apart from that, Petronas Dagangan Bhd (PDB) is also providing mobile refuelling services through mobile refuelling trucks (ROVR) stationed at rescue operation locations.

In December, Petronas announced a commitment of RM25 million in aid to flood-hit people in several areas nationwide.
