Pahang KPDN Seize 205 Kg Of Cooking Oil Packs, 20 Kg Of White Sugar.

KUANTAN: The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) seized 205 kilogrammes (kg) of subsidised cooking oil packs, 20 kg of coarse white sugar, and related business documents in a raid against two premises in Triang, Bera this morning. Pahang KPDN director Jezlily Jamaluddin stated that the raid was initiated based on complaints that the premises were using subsidised controlled items for business purposes and had converted a residential home into a store for these items.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, personnel from the Kuantan and Bera offices conducted simultaneous checks at a restaurant and a residential house, both owned by the same individual. The investigation uncovered a supply of coarse sugar at the restaurant. Furthermore, the checks revealed that subsidised cooking oil packs stored at the residential home exceeded the permissible limit, and the owner failed to provide documentation verifying ownership of the subsidised items.

Two investigation papers have been opened against the owner
under the Control of Supplies Act 1961. KPDN director Jezlily Jamaluddin emphasized the ministry’s commitment to ensuring compliance with the law, stating, “KPDN would like to issue a stern warning against any individual or company to always adhere to the law. Legal action can be taken against any individual committing such offenses.”
