P5-M shabu, marijuana seized in Bicol police ops


LEGAZPI: Authorities seized over PHP5 million worth of shabu along with two grams of marijuana during two days of anti-drug operations in Camarines Sur and Albay, the Police Regional Office-Bicol (PRO5) said on Wednesday.

In a report, Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, PRO5 spokesperson, said two high-value individuals in Camarines Sur and a minor in Albay were arrested in buy-bust operations.

“A high-value individual (HVI) known by the alias ‘Anton’, a resident of Igualdad, Naga City, was captured in a buy-bust operation on Tuesday evening conducted at Zone 5, Barangay Sagurong, Pili, Camarines Sur. He was placed under police custody after selling to the police undercover 29 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 275 grams with an estimated value of PHP1,870,000.00, as well as 2 grams of dried marijuana leaves valued at PHP240,” Calubaquib said.

Another operation in Zone 2, Barangay Sabang, Naga City led to the arrest of another high-value individual identified as alias ‘Jao-Jao’.

During the operation, operatives fo
und and confiscated from his possession 55 grams of shabu valued at PHP374,000.

Meanwhile, a minor and resident of this city was arrested by police anti-drug operatives after a buy-bust operation conducted on Monday evening in Purok 2, Barangay Lidong, Sto. Domingo, Albay.

“During the buy-bust, 415 grams of shabu worth PHP2.82 million was obtained from his custody. Apart from this, a knife and cellular phone were also obtained from him. The suspect is now in police custody for further investigation before being placed in the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for being a minor,” Calubaquib said.

She said the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Bicol is urging the public, especially parents, to be vigilant so their children would not become addicted to illegal drugs or become involved in its sale.
