CEBU CITY: Anti-narcotics authorities in Cebu and Bohol arrested six drug suspects, including a Russian national, during separate operations Tuesday that also led to the confiscation of PHP17 million worth of suspected shabu.
In Cebu City, elements of the City Intelligence Unit of the Cebu City police arrested Ryan Balansag, 32, also known as ‘Insek’, during a buy-bust operation in Purok 8, Barangay Kamputhaw. His companion, 42-year-old Marlon Lopez, was also apprehended.
Lt. Lyndon Mondragon, head of the intelligence unit of the Cebu City police, said they seized from the suspects PHP13.6 million worth of suspected shabu.
Their arrest came after operatives from Cebu City Police Station 11 and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency conducted a separate operation Tuesday morning in Barangay Mambaling that led to the arrest of a high-value individual identified as Joel Ocarol Jr. alias Ondong, who yielded PHP3.4 million of shabu.
Meanwhile, PDEA-Bohol arrested a 38-year-old jobless Russian national identified a
s Viktor Tutov during the anti-narcotics agency’s drug den dismantling operation in Purok 6, Barangay Basdio in Loon town.
PDEA-7 information officer Leia Alcantara said Tutov was arrested along with other drug maintainer, Castor Bangco, a 36-year-old construction painter and a plea bargainer, and seized from their possession PHP240,000 worth of illegal drugs.
Also arrested was a drug den visitor, 33-year-old painter, Chun Jen Panis.
