PETALING JAYA: Over RM200,000 worth of exclusive travel packages are available during the three-day Selangor Travel Fair hosted by Tourism Selangor, which kicked off yesterday in conjunction with the Visit Selangor Year 2025. Selangor Local Government and Tourism Committee chairman Datuk Ng Suee Lim stated that alongside the state’s rich heritage and culture, the new attractions offered during the fair have the potential to shape Malaysia’s tourism industry for both local and international visitors.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Ng highlighted that the Selangor Travel Fair aims to attract up to 8 million tourists next year, with an anticipated tourism expenditure of up to RM11.7 billion. This initiative receives cooperation from Journify by Malaysia Aviation Group and the full support of various government agencies. The announcement was made during the opening ceremony and the pre-launch of the Visit Selangor Year 2025 campaign at the Orange Concourse, Sunway Pyramid.

ent included Tourism Selangor CEO Azrul Shah Mohamad, State Housing and Culture Committee chairman and Tourism Selangor board member Datuk Borhan Aman Shah, and Tourism Malaysia deputy director-general Lee Thai Hung. Ng mentioned the collaboration offers discounts and attractive packages through more than 20 tourism products, with the state government planning to organise over 100 events next year to support the campaign.
Participants of the Selangor Travel Fair 2024 include notable attractions such as SplashMania Waterpark, Skyline Luge, Jumpstreet Asia Malaysia, Farm in the City, and Eastin Hotel. The event also saw the launch of the Visit Selangor Year 2025 campaign logo and a performance of the theme song by Aizat Amdan.
Meanwhile, Azrul Shah stated that various travel packages with discounts of up to 50 per cent are available throughout the event, emphasizing the travel fair’s role as a significant platform to boost domestic tourism. He remarked that Selangor has recorded the highest number of visitors
in Malaysia for three consecutive years, reaching 22 million domestic visitors in 2023. Azrul expressed confidence that the Selangor state government’s mission to attract 8 million tourists for the Visit Selangor Year 2025 is achievable, especially with the collaborative efforts of government and private agencies.
