Over 2,000 Job Openings Being Offered At Southern Zone Madani Rakyat 2024 In Johor


JOHOR BAHRU, Up to 2,125 job opportunities will be offered at the MyFuture Job Carnival, held in conjunction with the three-day Southern Zone MADANI Rakyat (PMR) Programme 2024 at Dataran Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Skudai beginning today.

Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) Office Employment Insurance System head Azirruan Ariffin said the job openings are being offered by 21 companies including Farm Fresh, KPJ Puteri Specialist Hospital, URC Snack Foods Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Munchy’s), Beyonics Precision Malaysia Sdn Bhd and Halliburton Manufacturing and Technology (M) Sdn Bhd.

‘Among the sectors involved are manufacturing, oil and gas (OandG), hospitality, tourism, and information and communications technology. Through this career carnival, individuals can attend the interviews directly,” he told Bernama here today.

He said approximately 985 of the vacancies offered a salary of more than RM2,000, while the rest offered a salary of between RM1,500 and RM2,000 with 60 per cent of the vacancies requir
ing individuals to have qualifications at the diploma or degree level, and the other 40 per cent at the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia level.

SOCSO, he said, also provides career counselling for jobseekers to guide them in their applications for jobs that suit their interests and qualifications, in addition to the MyFuture Jobs portal registration counter for jobseekers.

Interested jobseekers should attend the career carnival neatly dressed and bring along their identification documents as well as academic and co-curricular certificates.

Meanwhile, jobseeker Mohd Hazri Sabtu, 45, from Pasir Gudang said he had been at the programme since 11 am today and had time to undergo interviews for positions as a technician and management trainee with two private companies.

Mohd Hazri previously worked in the OandG field, but had been laid off causing him to actively look for work during the past two months.

“I was informed that the results of the interview will be announced later. Anyway, I am grateful that SOCSO has mad
e various initiatives to help jobseekers such as the Job Resettlement Programme,” he also said.

Another jobseeker, Syed Sadid Syed Hashim, 28, from Johor Bahru said he found out about this career carnival through social media and decided to attend it to look for job openings in the high tech and digital marketing field.

Syed Sadid, who holds a Political Science Degree from the International Islamic University (UIAM) but works as a part-time swimming coach, said such a career carnival was the best opportunity for him to attend quick interviews and also get guidance and related advice from SOCSO officials.

The Southern Zone MADANI Rakyat (PMR) Programme 2024, organised by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) through the Performance Acceleration and Coordination Unit (PACU), with strategic cooperation from the Ministry of Economy and Johor government, focuses on the implementation of the MADANI Economic framework as well as the government’s continued commitment to empower the people, entrepreneurs and industry s
