NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR TOKOH AKADEMI BAHASA MELAYU AWARD FROM APRIL 1-JUNE 2

Nominations for Tokoh Akademik Bahasa Melayu (ATABM), Tokoh Harapan Akademik Bahasa Melayu (ATHABM) and Tokoh Bahasa Melayu Sektor Teknikal (ATBMST) awards are open from today (April 1) to June 2.

According to a statement from the Higher Education Ministry (MOHE) today, ATHABM is open to all public university academicians aged 44 and below.

The ATABM was established to recognise public university academicians who promoted Bahasa Melayu in various fields to honour the language as a means for research, publication, teaching, and expert services in the social sciences and science and technology fields.

The statement added that the ATBMST award was held to recognise academicians at polytechnics and community colleges.

According to MOHE, a total of nine academic figures have received the award since its inception in 2012.

“With this award, the ministry will continue to promote Bahasa Melayu as a language of knowledge and make it as a vehicle for knowledge development, information dissemination and communication in Malaysia,” said the statement.
