No Decision Yet Regarding Fatwa On GISBH’s Teachings – Kelantan Mufti

KOTA BHARU, The Kelantan Mufti Department is still gathering evidence and new elements that may link GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISBH) to deviant teachings before issuing any fatwa regarding the organisation’s beliefs and practices.

Kelantan Mufti Datuk Mohamad Shukri Mohamad said the department does not want to hastily issue a fatwa on the matter.

‘For Al-Arqam, we have already issued a fatwa concerning its teachings. However, for GISBH, we are collecting new elements, and if another fatwa is needed, we will add it,’ he said.

He was speaking to reporters at an intellectual discourse in conjunction with the 55th birthday celebrations of Sultan Muhammad V here today. The event was graced and officiated by the Tengku Mahkota of Kelantan Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Petra.

At the same time, Mohamad Shukri advised Muslims in the state to be cautious of GISBH’s teachings, which are said to be a continuation of Al-Arqam’s beliefs.

‘This doesn’t only concern GISBH; we remind the public not to easily believe in any devia
nt teachings that could mislead others,’ he said, adding that the issue of GISBH will be discussed in next month’s fatwa meeting.
