NGCP deploys 1K line crews to restore transmission lines


Manila: The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) said Friday it has deployed 1,088 line crews for its transmission lines restoration efforts amid the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.

‘NGCP has mobilized its line crews and is currently conducting patrols. Simultaneous restoration activities are also being conducted in areas already accessible,’ the NGCP said in a statement.

Four 69-kilovolt (kV) transmission lines in Pangasinan, Batangas, and Camarines Sur remained partially offline as of 9 a.m. Friday, according to the NGCP.

It said unavailable 69-kV transmission lines include the Labrador-Bolinao and the Batangas-Taysan line, which went down on Oct. 24; the Batangas-Mabini-Cuenca line, which went offline on Oct.23; and the Naga-Iriga line, which is unavailable since Oct. 22.

Among the affected areas in Pangasinan were Labrador, Lingayen, Sual, Alaminos City, Bani, Bolinao, Burgos, Anda, Agno, Mabini, Burgos, Dasol, and Infanta, being serviced by Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperativ
e (Cenpelco I) and Pangasinan Electric Cooperative (Panelco I).

In Batangas, those with power interruptions included the service areas of Batangas II Electric Cooperative (Batelec II) – Cuenca, Alitagtag, Bauan, Lobo, Taysan, and portions of Rosario.

In Camarines Sur serviced by Camarines Sur III Electric Cooperative (Casureco III), power outages remained in Bula, Nabua, Iriga, Buhi, Baao, and Bato.

Power restoration efforts are underway.
