New KL-Da Nang Route Bolsters Goals Of Visit Malaysia 2026

PUTRAJAYA, The new Kuala Lumpur-Da Nang route manifests a strong collaboration between Tourism Malaysia and Malaysia Airlines, reflecting a shared vision to support the goals of Visit Malaysia 2026 in welcoming 35.6 million international tourist arrivals and generating RM147.1 billion in tourism revenue.

Tourism Malaysia in a statement today said the direct connection marks a significant milestone in expanding connectivity from second-tier Vietnamese cities to Malaysia.

This development presents a valuable opportunity to attract more tourists while expanding Malaysia Airlines’ presence in Vietnam, adding to existing routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

It said Vietnam is one of the key target markets apart from China, India, Indonesia and Australia.

The inaugural flight MH749 from Da Nang carrying 150 passengers arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 at 3.20 pm yesterday.

The weekly flights will operate daily between Da Nang and Kuala Lumpur, utilising Boeing 737-800 airc
raft with a capacity of 180 passengers.
