Mydin helps Gum-Gum Ramadan bazaar traders affected by heavy rain, strong winds

The plight of more than 12 Ramadan bazaar traders in Gum-Gum, near here, who were affected by yesterday’s heavy rain and strong winds, has caught the attention of Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd (Mydin) supermarket.

Its director Datuk Ameer Ali Mydin had instructed the head of the Mydin Sandakan branch to immediately identify the affected traders to help those in need of assistance.

“I am very sympathetic to the unfortunate incident suffered by the Ramadan bazaar traders that had caused them to suffer losses and damages.

“To alleviate their burden, we (Mydin) will also donate cash vouchers worth RM500 to each trader so that they can replace damaged items and restart their business,” he said in a statement, here today.

Yesterday, traders at the Ramadan bazaar suffered losses after heavy rain and strong winds damaged their stalls and goods.
