Mother of accident victim to donate money from survivor’s pension to charity


KUALA TERENGGANU, The mother of an accident victim intends to donate to charity the pension money that she received from the Social Security Organisation (Perkeso) and to perform the pilgrimage on behalf of her deceased son.

Rohana Mamat, 53, said her son Muhammad Haniff Idham Mohd Azmi, 24, was supposed to start a new job on an oil rig on Aug 1.

Muhammad Haniff Idham and his friend Nurshabirah Izzani Zulkurnain, 22, passed away at Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital due to an accident involving four vehicles on Jalan Kemajuan, here on July 27.

Traumatised by the accident that claimed the life of her youngest child, Rohana said she could not go into his bedroom as she kept seeing him entering the bedroom as if he was still alive.

She spoke to reporters at the presentation ceremony of Perkeso benefits at Wisma Perkeso, here today.

Rohana said Muhammad Haniff Idham was an obedient and helpful son.

Meanwhile, Terengganu Perkeso director Farihah Che Husin said the heirs of Muhammad Haniff Idham and Nurshabihah w
ill receive a lifelong survivor’s pension.

She said Perkeso will provide the survivor’s pension to Nurshabihah’s parents as well as her three siblings until they reach 21.
