Mosti Introduces Five New Categories For This Year’s National Young Scientist Award

PUTRAJAYA, The Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI) has introduced five new categories — Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, and Engineering — for this year’s National Young Scientist Award (ASMN).

MOSTI announced today that submissions for the ASMN candidates, which began earlier this month and will end on Sept 13, can be made through www.mosti.gov.my.

It said ASMN is a MOSTI initiative to recognise and appreciate the outstanding works and achievements of young scientists in research and development (RandD) in science, technology, and innovation.

The award aims to encourage the generation of new knowledge in science to ensure Malaysia remains competitive internationally, particularly in RandD.

“This award also prepares the nation to face future challenges by highlighting research with the potential to solve everyday problems.

“Through this initiative, Malaysia can nurture young scientists with high creative capacity, contributing to the economy and advancing the nation towards b
ecoming prosperous and developed in line with the Malaysia MADANI concept,” the statement read.
