MONTIKA THE HERO AS CITY BOYS EDGE RED GIANTS


KUALA LUMPUR, A 63rd-minute Jovan Montika goal was all Kuala Lumpur (KL) City FC needed to beat Selangor FC 1-0 in their Klang Valley Super League derby at the Cheras Football Stadium here tonight.

The win sees the City Boys, under the guidance of coach Miroslav Kuljanac, jump from seventh spot to fourth in the 13-team standings with seven points while the Red Giants stay in second spot with nine points.

Tonight’s match saw both teams evenly matched in the first half and neither could break the deadlock.

The City Boys finally found the breakthrough in the 63rd minute when Montika latched on to a pass from Muhammad Hakimi Azim Rosli to slot home.
