Meralco resumes bidding of 600MW, 400MW power supply

MANILA: The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) announced Wednesday that the Competitive Selection Process (CSP) for its 600 megawatts and 400 MW power supply will resume.

This as the Taguig Regional Trial Court (RTC) dismissed the petition for injunction of the CSP and rendered its Temporary Restraining Order without force and effect, Meralco said.

“We urge prospective bidders to submit their best offers for Meralco’s 600MW and 400MW supply requirements for next year. We look forward to receiving competitive offers that will help us fulfill our mandate of providing reliable and least-cost electricity to our customers,’ Meralco Bids and Awards Committee for Power Supply Agreements chairman Lawrence Fernandez said.

Both power requirements are scheduled for delivery by August 2025.

For the 600MW power requirement, the deadline for bid submission is on Aug. 27.

Meralco will also conduct a pre-bid conference for the 400MW power supply on Aug. 29. The bid submission deadline for this CSP is on Oct. 1.

‘We woul
d also like to reiterate that the CSPs are being conducted in compliance with the rules and guidelines set by the Department of Energy and the Energy Regulatory Commission. We remain dedicated to conducting this process with utmost transparency and fairness,’ Fernandez noted.
