Melaka Set To Welcome 100,000 Visitors For International Air Carnival


MELAKA, The state government aims to attract about 100,000 visitors to the 2024 Melaka International Air Carnival (KUAM), scheduled for Oct 31 to Nov 3.

State Tourism, Heritage, Arts and Culture Committee chairman Datuk Abdul Razak Abdul Rahman announced that this year’s event will be held at Melaka International Airport (LTAM) in Batu Berendam and the carnival will feature an asset exhibition alongside aerial displays.

“This year’s event has received support from the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM), the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) and local aviation associations,’ he told a press briefing here today.

Abdul Razak revealed that the inaugural flight from Singaporean no-frill airline (Scoot) is set to land at LTAM on Oct 23.

He also added that the luxury Genting Dream Cruise Ship is expected to dock in Melaka waters at around 10 am on Nov 11, bringing in more tourists.

“The arrival of these visitors by air and sea will be celebrated enthusiastically as a gest
ure of appreciation. This initiative is expected to draw more tourists to Melaka, coinciding with the Visit Melaka Year 2024 (TMM2024),” he added.
