Medal Winners At Para SUKMA Games In Sarawak Will Be Offered Additional Incentives – Negeri Semibilan MB

SEREMBAN, Medal winners from the Negeri Sembilan Para SUKMA Games (SUKMA) contingent will receive an additional incentive of RM1,000 for each medal if they managed to secure top three positions at the Sarawak Para SUKMA 2024 edition.

Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the decision to increase the incentives was to serve as an inspiration and motivation for athletes to obtain excellent results at the Para SUKMA this time around.

‘The addition means gold medal winners will receive an incentive of RM6,000, compared to the earlier amount of RM5,000, silver from RM3,000 to RM4,000 and bronze from RM2,000 to RM3,000.

‘I hope this incentive can fuel the spirit of all our athletes, nothing is impossible, if we were in seventh position before, this time I hope if we can get first, second or at least third position,’ he said when met by reporters after handing over the flag to the state’s Para SUKMA contingent athletes here today.

In the meantime, Aminuddin said he was confident that the
state contingent would be able to surpass the gold medal target of more than 14 medals, based on the current good performances of athletes when participating in the national circuit this year.

The 75-member SUKMA contingent will participate in all 10 contested sports, namely Para Table Tennis, Para Archery, Para Lawn Bowl, Para Tenpin Bowling, Para Swimming, Para Athletics, Para Chess, Powerlifting, Para Badminton and Boccia.
