MCMC Seeks Public Input On Draft Code Of Conduct (Best Practice) For Safer Online Environment In Malaysia


CYBERJAYA, Following the introduction of the Regulatory Framework for Internet Messaging and Social Media Service Providers (Service Providers), gazetted on 1 August 2024 and set to take effect on 1 January 2025, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is commencing a Public Consultation on the draft Code of Conduct (Best Practice) for the Service Providers.

The Public Consultation seeks to gather feedback from the Service Providers, the public, industry players, and other relevant stakeholders. The objective of the draft Code of Conduct (Best Practice) is to create a safer online environment for all Malaysians, with a particular focus on protecting children and vulnerable groups who may be at risk of being exposed to harmful content online.
