mandarin Oriental Presents Lunar Luxuries By Award-winning Lai Po Heen

As the Mid-Autumn festival approaches, Mandarin Oriental here is thrilled to present a selection of lunar luxuries from the award-winning Lai Po Heen, available until Sept 27 this year.

In a statement today, the hotel said this year’s design motif was taken from an ancient Chinese tale detailing the life of the Jade Rabbit, who selflessly sacrificed itself for the Jade Emperor, disguised as a hungry beggar.

‘The gesture moved the Jade Emperor, elevating the humble rabbit to the moon, where it resides as the Jade Rabbit.

‘The design of the box tells the story of selflessness and sacrifice of the rabbit and serves as a timeless reminder of these virtues when celebrating the festival,’ the statement said.

Their halal-certified traditional baked mooncakes are also available in a variety of flavours such as Assorted Mixed Nuts, Red Bean Paste, Lotus Paste with Single Egg Yolk, Pandan Paste with Single Egg Yolk, Pumpkin with Melon Seed, and Low Sugar White Lotus Paste.

Mandarin Oriental also offers specialty
snow skin and chocolate flavoured mooncakes with familiar indulgent flavours.

The snow skin mooncakes will feature flavours such as Musang King, Pistachio Cream Cheese and White Lotus Paste, Assorted Mixed Nuts and Pandan Lotus Paste.

In addition, guests can enjoy three types of chocolate mooncakes namely Yuzu Ganache and Hazelnuts Praline, Coconut Pandan Ganache, Streusel and Roasted Coconuts and Dark Chocolate Hazelnut Ganache and Crunchy Praline.

The mooncakes can be purchased online or at The Mandarin Cake Shop in the hotel’s lobby with prices starting at RM45 nett per piece.

The mooncakes are also sold in a set of three or set of six, priced at RM120 nett and Rm238 nett respectively. Enjoy Early Bird Savings of 15 per cent on purchases made between July 15 and Aug 15.
