Magnitude 4.6 quake jolts Occidental Mindoro

MANILA: A magnitude 4.6 earthquake jolted Occidental Mindoro on Wednesday night, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

The tectonic quake struck 14 km. northeast of Looc at 7:37 p.m.

It was 43 km. deep.

Intensity III was felt in Batangas City, while Intensity II was reported in Tagaytay City, Cavite province; and Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro.

Instrumental Intensity III was also recorded in Tagaytay City, while Intensity II in Puerto Galera.

Phivolcs said aftershocks and damage are not expected from the magnitude 4.6 earthquake.
