MACC Committed To Enhance AMAR Initiative, Promote Anti-corruption Awareness On Campuses

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) remains committed to strengthening its collaboration with higher education institutions (IPTs) to disseminate anti-corruption messages to students nationwide.

MACC Community Education Division, Education Branch head Farah Najwa Abdul Aziz highlighted this commitment while officiating the Angkatan Mahasiswa Antirasuah (AMAR) IPMa Camp Series 2 2024 at the MARA Student Leadership Centre in Lenggong.

In a statement released by MACC today, she said that 2,998 anti-corruption awareness programmes have been implemented since AMAR’s inception 17 years ago, reaching 816,734 students.

‘The encouraging response and feedback from students proves that the establishment of AMAR is highly relevant and should serve as the main platform to engage with students, regardless of their diverse backgrounds,’ she said in the statement.

The MACC also said that to date, 118 AMAR Clubs have been established at public and private universities, MARA Educational Institutions (IPMa) and
Teacher Education Institutes, with the aim to instil noble and anti-corruption values, thus becoming a catalyst for collaboration between the Commission and IPTs.

According to MACC, the AMAR Camp was attended by 97 participants consisting of presidents or Supreme Council members of AMAR from 12 IPMas, including Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi MARA (KKTM) Sri Gading, KKTM Ledang and KKTM Masjid Tanah.

MARA Integrity Unit head Suhaimi Man and MARA Junior Science College (MRSM) Ulul Albab Sungai Besar principal Firdaus Abd Razak, who also acted as the chief facilitator, were present at the camp.
