LTdL 2024: Organisers To Monitor Current Uncertain Weather Situation

The organisers of Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2024 are currently monitoring the situation of the uncertain weather that has hit several areas of the highway cycling tour competition.

Organising Committee chairman, Abdul Rashid Yaakub said his side will also take precautionary measures to ensure the smooth running of the prestigious race in Asia.

“We do feel the concern and I think everyone is aware of the weather conditions, especially in the West Coast area. Likewise in the coastal area because the wind is very strong and there were occasions when the ferry cannot operate.

“However, it may be difficult to change the route, maybe the timing of the competition can be slightly changed if there is a need there,” he said when met recently.

In the meantime, Abdul Rashid said that if the weather is still uncertain, his team has approximately 10 to nine days to make any preparations or changes.

“God willing, we hope that the weather will facilitate us and we can continue this race smoothly.

“In any case, we ar
e ready for any situation,” he said.

LTDL 2024 Race will start in Langkawi for Stage 1, followed by Stage 2 Arau to Butterworth, Taiping to Cameron Highland (Stage 3), Kuala Kubu Baru to Bentong (Stage 4), Kuala Lumpur to Melaka (Stage 5), Batu Pahat to Kulai (Stage 6), Miri to Bintulu (Stage 7) and Bintulu (Stage 8).

A total of 22 teams will take part in the 2.pro status race which opens on September 29 by covering a total distance of 1,190 kilometres starting from Langkawi Island and for the first time will enter Miri and Bintulu in Sarawak.
