KPWKM to discuss with KKMM on internet access issue at relief centres

PASIR MAS, Dec 22 — The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry (KPWKM) will discuss with the Communications and Multimedia Ministry (KKMM) in an effort to address the internet coverage problems at several flood relief centres in the country.

Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff said this was to make it easier for flood victims to get better access to the internet for better communication in addition to getting updates on the current flood situation.

“I was informed that internet coverage in several relief centres is very slow, making it difficult for flood victims to get the latest information.

“So, I will be meeting with KKMM the soonest possible to discuss the issue so that internet coverage can be enhanced,” she told reporters after visiting a relief centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Tok Deh here today.
