KPKT Committed To Implement Public Service Reform

PUTRAJAYA, The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) will continue to give priority in implementing Public Service Reform to make the MADANI Malaysia Agenda a success.

KPKT in a statement today said the implementation of the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA) gave an injection of enthusiasm to employees of the ministry to continue to strive and give full commitment in serving the people based on eight main focus areas.

Among the eight main focus areas are developing and empowering the role of Local Government; develop the potential of Local Authorities to generate additional sources of income for the country; more comprehensive and competitive housing planning; as well as community empowerment regardless of race.

It also covers more effective and efficient integrated solid waste management; strengthen the sustainable and smart city agenda towards new townships; strengthen firefighting and rescue preparedness; as well as targeting the construction of 100 MADANI Public Recreation Parks thro
ughout the country.

“The progressive KPKT personnel will continue the ministry’s agenda and focus on providing quality services for the well-being of the people,” according to the statement.

According to the statement, the government’s decision regarding the salary adjustment of civil servants through SSPA is part of the ongoing effort to appreciate the contributions and improve the welfare of civil servants.

“KPKT continues to be committed to empowering the best delivery quality service and integrity especially to improve the livability and well-being of the people in this country,” he said.

Meanwhile, Minister of Housing and Local Government Nga Kor Ming said the implementation of the SSPA is evidence of the government’s efforts to improve the performance of public servants by ensuring that the people receive quality and best services.

He said, it is also in line with the desire to make this ministry a centre of excellence based on its roles and functions.

He also reminded KPKT employees to continue t
heir dedication as a motivation to double their efforts and show excellent work performance in achieving the Key Performance Indicators that have been set for the benefit of the people.
