KUALA LUMPUR, Menara Kuala Lumpur Sdn Bhd is once again continuing its tradition of flying the giant Jalur Gemilang this year, with an ‘unboxing’ event to be held at the terrace of the Kuala Lumpur Tower on Monday (Aug 26).
Menara Kuala Lumpur Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Nazli Saad said as the nation’s iconic 421-metre (1,381 feet) tower, the initiative is to support the government’s efforts to enliven the 67th National Day celebrations, to rekindle the patriotism of every Malaysian.
‘People are invited to gather and cheer at this ‘unboxing’ event at 10.30 am to unfurl the flag in the hope that it can unite Malaysians from all religions, races and backgrounds,’ he said in a statement today.
In conjunction with this year’s National Month, Menara Kuala Lumpur Sdn Bhd is also offering a 60 per cent discount promotion for entry tickets to special attractions and exciting activities being held until Malaysia Day (Sept 16).
Among them are the lighting of the tower with the colours of the national flag, an
Independence (Merdeka) Day poetry recital competition, a traditional games room, music and cultural performances and other events that local and international visitors can participate in.
