Kelantan PKR Aims To Reach 100,000 Members This Year

Kelantan PKR is aiming to increase its membership to 100,000 by the end of the year as early preparation for the upcoming 16th general election (GE16).

Kelantan PKR leadership council chairman, Datuk Seri Mohamad Suparadi Mohd Noor said the party currently has 68,000 members in 14 divisions in the state.

‘We are starting our strategic efforts from now to strengthen the party in the state in preparation for the upcoming GE. ‘Besides increasing membership, we are also identifying state constituencies that need to be focused on and potential candidates to put forward,’ he told Bernama at the Keadilan Menang Siri PRU16 (KEMAS16) convention held here, today.

He added that PKR, as a Unity Government component party, is viewed as more capable in offering certain services to the people.

‘The people of Kelantan are currently analysing political parties that can offer them better services, which in turn gives PKR a great opportunity to strengthen its position.

‘It can also be clearly seen how PKR’s leadership, le
d by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, has been addressing their needs through various forms of assistance,’ Mohamad Suparadi said, adding that they would contest at least 14 of the 45 state assembly seats in GE16.
