Kelantan Immigration Detains 30 Illegal Immigrants From Thailand

KOTA BHARU, The Kelantan Immigration Department arrested 38 illegal immigrants in a sting operation around Rantau Panjang yesterday evening.

Kelantan Immigration Deputy Director (Management) Nik Akhtarulhaq Nik Abdul Rahman said all the detained immigrants comprised 22 males and 16 females who are Thai nationals.

He said the immigration detained seven Road Tour service vans in which all the immigrants were riding in the area.

‘All the immigrants who were detained were taken to the Kelantan Immigration Complex for further investigations under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and the Immigration Regulations 1963.

‘The Immigration Department urges every employer to employ foreigners who have valid passports and the public is asked to come forward and channel information about immigrants or any illegal activities of foreigners,’ he said in a statement today.

Nik Akhtarulhaq said strict action will be taken against any party that masterminds, facilitates and abets in protecting illegal immigrants.
