Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud said the allocation covers the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) Excellence Programmes, as well as financial aid for students pursuing studies abroad.

He said 82 out of 93 YIK schools would implement the excellence programmes, benefitting 5,162 SPM candidates and 1,024 STAM candidates.

‘This initiative aims to ensure that our students continue to excel and bring honour to the state on a national level.

‘We hope that schools will execute this excellence programme effectively, and I have high hopes that our students will serve and contribute to the religion, the nation and the country,’ he told reporters here today.

Earlier, Mohd Nassuruddin presented a RM500 cash assistance to 98 students pursuing their studies in Jordan, Egypt and Tunisi
a this year in courses such as medicine, dentistry and syariah studies.

He also announced a new initiative, the Tuisyen Rakyat Sejahtera Kelantan programme, with an allocation of RM477,000 to help students facing academic challenges due to limited access to supplementary education.

This tuition programme, he said, would benefit 1,350 students across 45 state constituencies over a three-month period, with RM10,600 allocated for each constituency. It is scheduled to begin in October.

‘This programme targets secondary school students in need of additional academic assistance, particularly those from underprivileged families, with each class limited to 30 students.
