Johor Civil Servants to Receive Two-Month Salary Incentive in Recognition of Dedication.

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Johor government state and federal civil servants who are paid by the state government will receive a special excellence incentive amounting to two months’ salary. Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi announced this initiative as a token of appreciation for the dedication and commitment of civil servants in the state.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the incentive aims to motivate civil servants to enhance their excellence and continue providing the best service to Bangsa Johor. This announcement was made during the presentation of the Johor Budget 2025 at the Johor Legislative Assembly meeting in Kota Iskandar. Additionally, RM18.1 million has been allocated to double the allowance of mosque and surau officials, marking the first increase in 12 years.

A further allocation of RM3.5 million has been set aside for a one-off incentive of RM500 for 6,970 mosque and surau officials. These funds will be distributed through the offices of 56 state assembly members and are expected to be paid
in March next year.

Meanwhile, Onn Hafiz unveiled plans for the Johor Super Lane (JSL) at the Invest Malaysia Facilitation Centre Johor (IMFC-J). This initiative aims to standardize processes and facilitate business operations within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ). JSL is an improvement of the Kulai Fast Lane (KFL) initiative, which has been recognized as a benchmark by other local authorities in Johor and beyond, as mentioned by the Prime Minister in his Budget 2025 speech.

Significant improvements under JSL include reducing the time required for the land development process, which lacks a Layout Planning Permit, from 37 months to just 13 months. Additionally, business operation licenses will be issued within one hour after the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC) is submitted.

In further initiatives, the Machap assemblyman announced an allocation of RM1.8 million to continue the ‘Johor Makmur Anak Angkat’ programme. This program aims to assist 1,200 children and teenagers wh
o lost their parents due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, 8,021 units of Johor Affordable Homes (RMMJ) are planned for construction next year across all districts through collaboration between the state government and developers.

Onn Hafiz also launched the Maju Johor 2030 official website outside the assembly grounds. The website serves as an official information center about Johor’s development, initiatives, and achievements, ensuring that the people of Johor stay informed and can provide feedback.

In addition to these announcements, incentives were presented to Johor athletes who achieved honors at the 2024 Paris Olympics and the 2024 Malaysia (Sukma) Sarawak Games.
