Jakim To Meet Gisb To Obtain Clarification On Deviant Teaching Allegations

PUTRAJAYA, The Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) has been instructed to meet with representatives from GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd to obtain feedback and clarification regarding allegations of the company’s involvement with al-Arqam and Rufaqa deviant teachings.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar said the department would not compromise on issues related to the faith of Muslims, as it is a fundamental aspect of Islam that must be preserved at all times.

He advised the public to report any suspicious activities that could potentially distort religious beliefs to the police, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), and state religious authorities.

‘This is important as a basis and supporting information for the authorities, including state Islamic religious bodies, to conduct further investigations,’ he said in a statement posted on his official Facebook page today.

Mohd Na’im said the department would fully cooperate wit
h the police and state Islamic religious authorities in the investigation.

Previously, Mohd Na’im confirmed an engagement session with GISB Holdings representatives following multiple allegations of deviant teachings, exploiting religion and children to solicit donations and conduct business.
