Ismail Sabri Joins In Deepavali Festivities In Brickfields

KUALA LUMPUR, Yayasan Keluarga Malaysia (YKM) chairman Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob continued the tradition of having a walkabout and meeting the Indian community in conjunction with the Deepavali celebration at the Little India in Brickfields here.

The former Prime Minister said it’s a tradition he has been practising ever since he became a minister.

“Although we are of different races and cultures, we celebrate Deepavali together. The proof is what you can see here as those shopping are not just Indians but other races as well, like Malays, Chinese and even foreigners,’ he said.

He said this when met after his meet-and-greet session with the Indian community, who are doing last-minute shopping for the festival.

Also present was MIC deputy president Datuk Seri M. Saravanan.

Ismail Sabri, the Bera Member of Parliament, also wished all Hindu devotees in Malaysia “Happy Deepavali’.
