Infra projects turned over to Maguindanao Sur, Lanao Sur residents

The Bangsamoro government continues to empower its constituents after it official turned over infrastructure projects in the provinces of Maguindanao del Sur and Lanao del Sur.

Bangsamoro Member of Parliament (MP) Diamila Disimban-Ramos led the turnover of the Multi-Purpose Learning Center project to the residents of Barangay Sampao in Guindulungan, Maguindanao del Sur on Wednesday, the lawmaker’s office said in a news release Thursday.

The project worth PHP1.85 million was funded under the 2021 Transitional Development Impact Fund of MP Ramos.

She said the learning center was designed to help residents of Barangay Sampao and nearby communities cultivate, develop and further expand their skills in developing projects, products and even services for their organizations.

‘Building such a facility is not just an infrastructure project; it is an important instrument in shaping a united, more developed, and more stable community, especially for our women, youth, senior citizens, and other community members,’
she said.

‘Through this facility, you now have space for your various activities, such as meetings, seminars, workshops to further grow your livelihood, and meetings to promote unity and peace in your community,’ she added.

Guindulungan Vice Mayor Ghiadzali Rene Midtimbang thanked MP Ramos and the Bangsamoro government for the first infrastructure project from BARMM that was built in this barangay.

Barangay Chairman Datu Elthon Pandita also said the project would greatly benefit his constituents.

The BARMM Ministry of Public Works (MPW) served as a partner implementing agency for this project.

Meanwhile, the residents of Barangay Tuca Maul in the town of Marantao in Lanao del Sur benefited from the three projects turned over in their area.

These are a public toilet, outdoor children’s playground and 33 units of solar street lights worth PHP4.6 million which was also funded under MP Ramos’ 2021 TDIF project.

“These projects symbolize our collective dream for every area in BARMM -a dream of a safer, more
progressive and brighter future, especially for the youth,” Ramos said.

Lawyer Abdul Rahman Rasad, who represented Marantao town Mayor Akira Alonto of Marantao town, said the projects are great help to the people of Barangay Tuca Maul.

‘Projects, for instance, this children’s outdoor playground, would very helpful in the development of the young and the youths to develop their skills and dealing with other children,’ Rasad added.

Assistant District Engineer Abdul Jalil Bansao of the MPW Lanao Del Sur said he is happy with the completion of the projects.

‘We have many outdoor children’s playgrounds, but so far, this is the one that has been accomplished. To the community of Tuca Maul, take care of these projects and maintain their beauty and orderliness,’ he added.
