KAJANG, March 19 (Bernama) — IMAN Media Group, the parent company of IMAN Publication Sdn Bhd and online book sales company IMAN Shoppe Bookstore Sdn Bhd, has successfully sold over 1.5 million books throughout a decade in the industry, as it helped readers seek answers to various questions through its products.

Its chief executive officer, Fatin Syamimy Liana Badaruddin said the company, which opened its doors in 2013, focused on printing books catering to finding solutions to readers’ problems including their daily life, spirituality and family life.

“We see that these books as answers to problems faced by the community. The appropriate context of the books can help them find answers to the questions that are on their minds,” she told Bernama after the launch of #SedekadIMAN here today.

She said the company wanted to remain competitive in the book industry and continue to produce content that could appeal to people of various races, cultures, religions and ages.

“We started as the online bookstore, imanshoppe.com, and we moved on to publishing books. We aim to continue to provide answers to all the questions the people have for the next 10 years and beyond,” she said.

However, she admitted that the book industry will face tough challenges in the future, especially in meeting the needs of Generation Z readers, who always want a change where content is concerned due to the rapid technological developments taking place.

She said among the innovation taking place is online classes via the www.imanplus.com platform.

To attract the interest of the Generation Z, IMAN Shoppe Bookstore Sdn Bhd chief operating officer Rahmah Razak said the company had began offering active marketing using digital methods beginning in 2015.

“We have began publishing podcasts, articles on blogs, as well as selling e-books, which we view as being innovative in the world of technology. We also market books online using the e-commerce platform, imanshoppe.com, which focuses on Islamic books,” she said, adding that they have garnered up to almost 135,000 followers.

In the meantime, Rahmah added that her team planned to produce a drama or film based on the company’s publications in an effort to diversify their products.

She added that IMAN Publication’s success in this decade was the result of the commitment of its employees in producing new products to meet the needs of the community.
