Ilocos Norte dads approve 20K performance bonus for capitol workers

LAOAG CITY: Members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan on Tuesday approved the grant of a PHP20,000 performance bonus to more than 900 capitol workers, expected to be released next week.

Provincial board member Donald Nicolas, committee on appropriation chair, said the bonus forms part of Provincial Ordinance No. 2023-12-067 that utilizes around PHP107.63 million of the provincial government’s savings for this year for the grant of Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) to qualified employees as well as to implement various development projects that include the improvement of hospitals and classrooms.

SRI is an incentive mechanism to qualified government employees for good governance and meritorious performance.

Nicolas, during the passage of the ordinance certified as urgent by Governor Matthew Joseph Manotoc, said 657 permanent and 247 casual employees will receive the bonus.

Meanwhile, job order capitol workers will also receive PHP12,000 bonus each, subject to the realignment of funds of the different offic
