BALIK PULAU: A skeleton believed to be human was discovered in a durian farm on Jalan Besar Pulau Betong on Friday, reported South West district police chief ACP Sazalee Adam. The discovery was made after police received a tip-off regarding bones and a skeleton found in the orchard situated on a hilly slope at around 12:35 p.m.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the initial investigation at the site led to the unearthing of bones and a skeleton buried in a pile of earth. Alongside the skeletal remains, investigators found various artifacts, including phone fragments, cups, coils of wire, metal pots, and pieces of a fan.
The remains have been transported to Penang Hospital for an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death. Police are continuing their investigation, with results from the forensic report eagerly awaited.
