HPPNS Sabah 2024 Targets Over 10,000 Visitors


KOTA KINABALU, The Sabah Farmers, Breeders, and Fishermen Day (HPPNS) 2024 celebration will be held for three days starting this Friday (Nov 1), targeting over 10,000 visitors.

Deputy Chief Minister I, Datuk Seri Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, announced that the event, organised by the Sabah government, will take place at the Sabah International Convention Centre and is scheduled to be officiated by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor on the first day.

Dr. Jeffrey, who is also Sabah’s Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food Industry, said the celebration themed “Harvesting Hope, Building the Future,” aims to honour the contributions of local farmers, breeders, and fishermen to the state’s economic growth.

“Its objective is also to provide the public with information and updates on the latest developments in the plantation and agricultural sectors while promoting local entrepreneurs’ products.

“This programme also offers agricultural sector entrepreneurs the opportunity to showcase their products to potentia
l investors interested in the local agriculture, livestock, and fisheries sectors,” he said at a press conference today.

Meanwhile, Maria David Edick, deputy permanent secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food Industry Sabah, added that there will be 165 exhibitors from government agencies and entrepreneurs taking part in the event.

“The public is invited to experience a range of exciting activities, including product exhibitions and sales, lucky draws, singing competitions, and livestock exhibitions,” she said.
