MANILA: Operatives of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) arrested a high-value individual (HVI) and seized from him suspected shabu worth more than PHP13 million during a sting operation in Zamboanga City early Friday.

In a statement, PDEG chief Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta said the midnight operation in the city’s Barangay San Jose Gusu led to the arrest of 37-year-old alias ‘Samson’ who yielded 2 kg. of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP13.6 million.

The suspect was brought to the Zamboanga City Police Office Station 11 for his temporary detention while the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the PDEG Special Operations Unit 9 for documentation and proper disposition.
