High Speed Hitters eye No. 8 vs. Crossovers, share of lead

MANILA: PLDT eyes a share of the lead when it takes on Chery Tiggo in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference preliminary round at PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on Tuesday.

The High Speed Hitters and the Crossovers meet at 6 p.m. after the Petro Gazz-Cignal match at 4 p.m.

PLDT has a 7-1 slate behind Choco Mucho (8-1) and Creamline (7-2) while Chery Tiggo and Petro Gazz are tied with 6-2 records.

Keisha Dazzie Bedonia, who scored 16 points in PLDT’s 25-12, 25-21, 25-17 victory over Strong Group last week, is expected to lead the team, along with Shiela Mae Kiseo, Julianne Marie Samonte and Savannah Dawn Davison.

Chery Tiggo, on the other hand, will bank on Laure siblings EJ and Eya, and Ara Galang, who all scored in double figures when the Crossovers rolled to their fourth consecutive win courtesy of Cignal, 26-24, 25-20, 26-24 on April 9.

Meanwhile, the Petro Gazz Angels will rely on Brooke Van Sickle, Jonah Sabete, Remy Palma, Aiza Pontillas, Myla Pablo, Nicole Tiamzon, Kecelyn Gal
dones, Marian Buitre and Joy Dacoron when they collide with the HD Spikers (5-3), who will be spearheaded by Ces Molina, Jovelyn Gonzaga, Riri Meneses, Roselyn Doria and Vanie Gandler.
