Hi-5 For Health: Celebrating 5 Years Of Healthcare Excellence At Sunway Medical Centre Velocity

KUALA LUMPUR, Sunway Medical Centre Velocity (SMCV) has celebrated its fifth anniversary with a three-day ‘Hi-5 for Health’ festivities which started last Thursday (Sept 19) to commemorate the milestone with Malaysian and international patients the hospital has served over the years.

According to an SMCV statement, the festivities were officiated in a celebration ceremony on Sept 20 and was attended by the SMCV management team, patients, and media representatives.

SMCV’s chief executive officer Susan Cheow in her speech at the event expressed her heartfelt gratitude of the hospital to their patients, both local and international, partners, and the Malaysian community for their continued trust and support over the years.

‘Our mission to provide quality healthcare remains steadfast, and we are dedicated to this purpose for many years ahead.’

Susan also highlighted the recent milestone opening of the hospital’s new building (Tower A) earlier this year, and the hospital’s commitment to embracing new innovati
ons and technological trends, expanding services, and delivering exceptional care.

‘Our fifth anniversary is a celebration of our patients and community. Their trust motivates us in everything we do. Most importantly, we are dedicated to being a place where our patients feel supported, cared for and valued,’ she added.

Susan’s heartfelt speech was followed by a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony baked by one of SMCV’s own patients, which added a personal touch to the celebration and highlighted the strong bond between SMCV and the community it serves.

According to SMCV, throughout the three-day event, children and adults were engaged in various activities to promote health and wellness, such as hand hygiene educational activity, face painting, kiddy animal rides, free flow of popcorn, and many more.

In addition, the adults had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of surgery through an innovative virtual reality (VR) experience that allowed them to step into the shoes of a surgeon and gain insigh
t into the surgical field.

The attendees also explored a range of health and wellness pop-up booths featuring products and services from esteemed partners such as Sunway Sanctuary, Claire Organics, Farm Fresh, Yakult, Partylicious, So Pilates, Honey Hearts, Kintry, Mommama, Hapifam, Baba Beng, and Kayla Bakehouse that offered a diverse array of health and wellness offerings to encourage a holistic approach to well-being.

In conjunction with its fifth anniversary, SMCV has also introduced attractive promotions and discounts of up to 20 per cent on its health screening and other health and wellness packages.

“These special offerings are part of our commitment to supporting the health and well-being of the community. They are available until September 30, as this initiative invites everyone to prioritise their health and take advantage of these offerings,” the statement said.

As SMCV reflects on its journey over the past five years, the ‘Hi-5 for Health’ theme resonates with many memorable moments, including
the delivery of its first baby in 2019.

“While the baby, affectionately named ‘Velo,’ now resides overseas, this story remains a cherished part of SMCV’s history, symbolising the many lives the hospital has touched, said the statement.
