Green Spikers, Tamaraws hope to keep momentum in V-League

MANILA: De La Salle University and Far Eastern University will try to keep their winning forms in the V-League Men’s Collegiate Challenge at Paco Arena in Manila on Wednesday.

The Green Spikers will battle the winless Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals at 12 noon.

La Salle defeated University of Santo Tomas, 25-19, 27-25, 23-25, 25-20, for its second straight victory on Aug. 7, starring Joshua Magalaman who scored 13 points and Eugene Gloria and Michael John Fortuna who chipped in 12 each.

FEU, also sporting a 2-0 record, will take on University of Perpetual Help at 2 p.m.

The Tamaraws banked on Mikko Espartero to prevail over the Ateneo Blue Eagles, 24-26, 25-22, 25-18, 29-27, on Aug. 4.

The Altas, on the other hand, survived the Letran Knights, 25-19, 25-22, 20-25, 21-15, 15-13, on Wednesday.

In the women’s division, the Lady Tamaraws eye win No. 2 against the Lyceum of the Philippines University Lady Pirates at 5 p.m.

Faida Bakanke and Jean Asis are expected to impress anew after leading FEU’s 25-16,
25-14, 25-22 triumph over College of Saint Benilde last week.

Heart Bio and Joan Doguna will lead Lyceum in a bid to end a two-game slump.
