Govt Allocates RM7.45 Million For Slope Repair In Gua Musang – Ahmad Maslan

GUA MUSANG, The government has allocated RM7.45 million for the repair of slopes along state roads involving three locations in Gua Musang.

Deputy Public Works Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said the three locations are at Section 5.8 (Jalan Limau Kasturi-Bertam Baru), Section 6.7 (Jalan Limau Kasturi-Bertam Baru) and Section 1.0 (Jalan Bertam Lama-Jerek).

“The slope repairs in Section 5.8 and Section 6.7 are expected to be completed on Jan 16 next year at a cost of RM2.89 million and RM2.2 million respectively.

“Both roads collapsed due to excessive rainwater seeping into the slope and among the treatment methods implemented is upgrading the drainage system and installing street furniture,” he said.

He told reporters this after inspecting the progress of slope repair work at Section 5.8 near Kampung Limau Kasturi here which has reached 75 per cent progress.

Ahmad said for the slope repair in Section 1.0, the work progress has reached 42 per cent and is expected to be completed on Dec 16, 2025, at a co
st of RM2.36 million.

“The collapse that occurred was due to an inefficient drainage system and slope erosion was due to excessive water absorption,” he said.

Ahmad said implementation of the project is one of the government’s commitments to improving the quality of safe and comfortable road infrastructure, especially in locations threatened by slope erosion.
