Gold futures end lower

KUALA LUMPUR, The gold futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed lower today, despite the stronger performance of the COMEX gold futures.

At the close, August 2024 slid to US$2,402.20 per troy ounce from US$2,432.60 per troy ounce at yesterday’s close.

Meanwhile, September 2024, October 2024, November 2024, December 2024, and February 2025 all settled lower at US$2,405.90 per troy ounce compared to US$2,436.30 per troy ounce previously.

Volume fell to 39 lots from 51 lots on Tuesday, while open interest rose to 60 contracts against 21 contracts previously.

The price of physical gold stood at US$2,396.55 per troy ounce, according to the London Bullion Market Association’s afternoon fix on Aug 6.
