Gold Futures Close Lower On Profit-taking, Weaker US COMEX Gold Market

KUALA LUMPUR, The gold futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives finished lower today amid profit-taking activities, mirroring the weaker performance observed in the US COMEX gold market.

The September 2024 contract dropped to US$2,493.50 per troy ounce from US$2,523.70 per troy ounce yesterday.

The October 2024, November 2024, December 2024, February 2025, and April 2025 contracts all settled at US$2,495.80 per troy ounce from US$2,526.00 per troy ounce previously.

The volume increased to 30 lots versus eight lots on Tuesday, while open interest improved to 62 contracts against 36 contracts previously.

The price of physical gold stood at US$2,479.80 per troy ounce, according to the London Bullion Market Association’s afternoon fix on Sept 3.
