Foreign Ministry Acknowledges Report Of MyKad, Driver’s Licence Found In Ukraine


KUALA LUMPUR, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs today took note of a report stating that a MyKad (Malaysian identity card) and Malaysian driving licence had been found in Levadne, Zaporizhia, Ukraine.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also known as Wisma Putra, said it cannot confirm the authenticity of the information at this time.

‘This information has also been forwarded to the relevant authorities for verification.

‘We respectfully request that the media and the public refrain from making any speculations,’ the statement said.

The Ministry also advised Malaysians to exercise caution and ensure their own safety when abroad.

“The safety of Malaysians abroad is the responsibility of each individual.

“While the Malaysian Representative Office (Perwakilan) is always prepared to provide consular assistance to Malaysians in need, it is essential for all Malaysians to exercise caution and ensure their own safety,” the statement read.

icence allegedly found on a battlefield between Ukraine and Russia went viral, and a report claimed the documents were discovered following the success of Russian forces in capturing a Ukrainian military stronghold in Levadne, Zaporizhia, Ukraine.
