FM Mohamad Congratulates New Indonesian President Prabowo


KUALA LUMPUR, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan congratulated Prabowo Subianto who was sworn in as the new president of Indonesia on Sunday.

In a post on his official Facebook page, Mohamad also congratulated Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

“I pray that the Malaysian-Indonesian bond of kinship will be strengthened through this appointment. God willing,” he said.

Prabowo, 73, became Indonesia’s eighth president after winning the 2024 Presidential Election on Feb 14 with 59 per cent of the votes.

He, along with Gibran, 37, defeated their challengers – Anies Baswedan and Ganjar Pranowo – who won 25 per cent and 16 per cent of the votes, respectively.
