Firecracker regulations help in peaceful Caraga New Year revelry

BUTUAN CITY: The strict implementation of the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 7183 and Executive Order (EO) 28 helped the Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 (Caraga Region) in keeping the New Year’s Day revelry in the region safe, orderly, and peaceful.

‘No major firecracker-related incidents and no stray bullet incidents were reported based on the records provided by the Regional Operations Division of PRO-13,’ PRO-13 Director, Brig. Gen. Kirby John Kraft, said in a statement Tuesday.

Kraft also reported the arrest of four persons for violating the provisions of RA 7183 and EO 28 in a series of operations conducted on New Year’s Eve.

At th
e same time, prohibited firecrackers, valued at about PHP19,950, were seized from three other persons, identified only as ‘Hasmin’, ‘Rohiama’, and ‘Norjina,’ in Claver, Surigao del Norte.
