Fifteen Flood Evacuees In Muallim Housed In Two Relief Centres


A total of 15 individuals from four families in Muallim have been evacuated to two relief centres in the district following continuous rain in the morning.

The Perak state disaster management secretariat said that 10 evacuees from three families from Kampung Ketoyong are housed in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Khir Johari, Tanjong Malim, while the remaining five, residents of Kampung Sri Behrang, Kampung Lambak and Kampung Kelawar at Dewan Kampung Pauh, Behrang Stesen.

The secretariat also said that the water levels of rivers in 10 flood-risk locations around Kinta, Larut Matang and Selama, Kerian, Hulu Perak, Kampar, Kerian, Kuala Kangsar, Muallim, Perak Tengah as well as Bagan Datuk were at normal levels.

Eighteen houses in Hulu Bernam Timur subdistrict near Behrang were hit by floods after five hours of continuous rain.
