Fadillah Arrives In Laos For 42nd ASEAN Energy Ministers Meeting

VIENTIANE (LAOS), Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof arrived in Vientiane today to attend the 42nd ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM) and its associated meetings.

Fadillah, who is also the Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, was met on arrival at the VIP Terminal, Wattay International Airport, by Malaysian Ambassador to Laos, Edi Irwan Mahmud.

Also present is the Vice-Minister for Energy and Mines of Laos, Dr Chansaveng Boungnong.

The 42nd AMEM Meeting, chaired by Laos, will commence tomorrow for two days, with ASEAN energy ministers in attendance.

The discussions will centre on policy direction, infrastructure development, programme implementation, and sharing information, technology, and expertise in the energy sector among ASEAN member countries.

Fadillah is also scheduled to hold bilateral and multilateral discussions with ASEAN energy ministers, dialogue partners, and leaders of international energy organisations.
