Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries in Central Visayas are encouraged to enlist their children in the government’s search for new children ambassadors, a social welfare official said on Wednesday.
Shalaine Marie Lucero, regional director of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-7), said the search aims to recognize exemplary 4Ps children who serve as excellent examples in their households, schools, and communities.
Lucero said the search encourages children to be active citizens, performing beyond complying with the cash transfer program conditions, advocating the program and its thrusts, especially in health and education.
‘A nominee for the search for new 4Ps children ambassador must be a program beneficiary for at least one year, compliant with the required school attendance, in good academic standing, and fully immunized,’ Lucero said.
The DSWD will entertain recommendations for child nominees from community leaders, teacher-parent groups, or church groups.

The search is open to all 4Ps children beneficiaries aged 10 to 14 by October 31, 2024.
Provincial first placers will compete at the regional level and all four provincial winners will attend the National Children’s Congress (NCC) and the Araw ng Kabataan in Metro Cebu in celebration of National Children’s Month in November.
